Woman takes abuse for noticing young drunk

An upset woman on Fourth Avenue West told Columbia Falls Police Department she was verbally assaulted by a young male while walking her dog. The scoundrel, who she thought may have been drunk and underage, had allegedly yelled, “What are you looking at?” followed by an expletive. The male’s uncouth girlfriend then reportedly shouted, “Well, I’m 21. You want to fight me?” and then repeated the same expletive.
People attempting to make donations at a thrift shop on Nucleus Avenue were reportedly scared off by a dog while the dog’s owner was digging in a dumpster. The dog was not deemed vicious, but the man, a known panhandler, was ordered off the property.
Police confiscated stolen license plates after stopping a vehicle on Ninth Street West.
Another vehicle on Ninth Street West was given a citation for no tail lights.
An employee on Ninth Street West had $2 bills she believed to be fake.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a water rescue on Violet Bay Drive in Marion.
Two Bear Air was dispatched to search for a suspect who fled on foot after security at the county landfill reported a theft. The suspect is still at large, but not believed to pose a threat.
Whitefish Police Department received a call on Lupfer Avenue that a car was stolen by an ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend told police that the caller had originally taken the keys to his vehicle and would not return them, so he took the caller’s keys and car, driving it to his home. Both parties agreed to settle the matter civilly.
Officers picked up a K2 mountain bike, which had reportedly been left behind at a business for two weeks.
A landlord on Dakota Avenue had her questions answered after she told police that she wanted a renter to leave because he allegedly was a drug addict and noted that she had given him a written notice of eviction.
A call came in from Wisconsin Avenue complaining about noise. Apparently someone parked at the ice rink was “blasting loud music” and the caller wanted it turned down.
Kalispell Fire Department responded to an illegal burn on Seventh Avenue West North.
