Leadership at Lincoln County’s Unite for Youth is changing, at least temporarily, in the wake of board president Michelle Boltz’s March 27, 2016, arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Unite for Youth is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission, according to its website, is “reducing youth substance abuse through collective community prevention.”

Board vice president Jim May will be assuming Boltz’s responsibilities within the organization for the time being.

“Michelle is a valued member of our coalition and we appreciate the hard work that she has done,” the board of directors issued in a formal statement Monday, April 4. “We understand the seriousness of the situation and as a result our Vice President will be assuming the duties and responsibilities of her position at this time.”

Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe, a member of the organization’s executive board, said the move is temporary and nothing will be finalized until the case is resolved in court.

Boltz was arrested shortly after 1:30 a.m. March 27, following a report of possible drunk driving and stolen gas from a local gas station, according to dispatch reports from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
