A Kalispell man will serve two years with the Montana Department of Corrections for stealing $20,000 worth of merchandise from Cabela’s, partaking in a burglary ring near Beaver Lakes and stealing fuel cards.
Richard Flint III, 32, of Kalispell, was sentenced in Flathead District Court to 10 years with the Montana Department of Corrections, with eight years suspended for one count of felony theft and one count of felony deceptive practices.
In January Flint admitted to breaking into a business in early September 2015 and stealing fuel cards as part of a plea agreement where another charge for allegedly stealing a car in July 2015 has been dismissed.
Flint also admitted to being part of a burglary ring that stole items from multiple homes in the Beaver Lakes area in September 2015.
The group squirreled away the loot in the woods and many of the items were returned after Flint walked into a woman’s home on Sept. 22, 2015, and apologized to a woman because he didn’t know anyone was home.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and Two Bear Air searched the area and apprehended Flint. He was found with keys in his pocket that matched those of an abandoned vehicle found with $20,000 worth of merchandise that had been stolen from Cabela’s in Kalispell.
Flint was ordered to pay restitution to his victims.
