COEUR d'ALENE — The man who allegedly shot pastor Tim Remington last month will be brought back to Idaho to stand trial for attempted murder.

Kyle Odom, 30, was arrested in Washington, D.C., two days after allegedly shooting Remington multiple times in the parking lot of The Altar Church on March 6. On Wednesday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Chief Judge Lee Satterfield ruled Odom would be extradited to Idaho to face charges associated with the shooting, according to U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Bill Miller.

After the shooting, Odom boarded a commercial flight from the Boise Airport to Washington, D.C., and was seen throwing flash drives and other items over the White House fence. Secret Service agents apprehended Odom, and federal prosecutors declined to file charges in connection to the incident.

Coeur d'Alene Police Department investigators believe Odom was in Spokane for a brief period of time before heading south to Boise. Odom, a former Marine and University of Idaho graduate, mailed letters to his parents and several media outlets containing a lengthy manifesto sometime before March 7, however police can't confirm when the letters were sent.

More than 60 members of the United States and Israeli governments were mentioned in the document — including President Barack Obama and members of Congress.

"It was extensive and it was disturbing to us," Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said in a previous story.

Odom was wanted for the attempted murder of Remington, and Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh told the Press in a previous story that additional charges could be filed. No hearings have been scheduled in Kootenai County District Court relating to the case.

Remington has been in and out of the hospital since the shooting, but is expected to recover from the eight gunshot wounds he sustained.
