A popular downtown sports bar and restaurant is closing shop for a few months as it undergoes an extensive renovation.

Craggy Range Bar and Grill on Central Avenue will temporarily close April 10 to remodel the interior space. The restaurant, owned by Whitefish-based Glacier Restaurant Group, is expected to reopen in early June.

The redesign will include a more centralized and expanded bar area that will feature 16 beers on tap, additional flat screen TVs, pool tables and an upgraded stage area for live music. Craggy will continue to offer a family casual dining room and a full-service outdoor patio.

Glacier Restaurant Group is partnering with Hammerquist Casalegno Construction and CTA Group on the design and construction.

“The renovated Craggy Range will provide our guests with a better space to watch the game, listen to live music, and enjoy a casual family dining experience while maintaining the friendly and energetic culture of our establishment,” said Sara Straka, Craggy Range general manager.

A temporary closing party with local band The Flip Wilsons is planned for Friday, April 8.

Craggy Range first opened its doors in July 2006.

Glacier Restaurant Group employs more than 2,000 people. Brands under GRG include MacKenzie River Pizza, Max & Erma’s,

Ciao Mambo, Craggy Range Bar & Grill and Latitude 48.
