MATTAWA — The Missoula Children’s Theatre and children of the Wahluke School District will stage “The Jungle Book,” the Rudyard Kipling classic, at the end of this month.

“This is a great program for kids in all grades, K-12, to be apart of an amazing production,” Intramural program director Cody Marlow said. “We can have up to 60 kids participating in this production.”

“The Jungle Book” will be staged at the Wahluke High School auditorium on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 30, at 1 p.m.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre will be here April 25-30 to produce the show. The first day, at 3:15 p.m., there will be auditions for parts for students of all ages.

Promotional posters will be making their way to all of the school buildings. There will be flyers and registration forms for all of the students to take home.

“We always need help setting up the stage and tearing it down, as well as sound and light controls,” he said.

This will be the fifth consecutive year the MCT has aided the Mattawa Schools with drama. It is part of the after-school intramural program. Students learn how professional actors and producers perform.

“This is for grades K-12, and we can have up to 60 participants,” Marlow reiterated “It is a great opportunity for kids in the community, and MCT does an amazing job preparing these kids in just four and a half days of rehearsal. The public really enjoys the productions.”
