SANDPOINT — An online fundraising account has been established for a Sandpoint pedestrian who was reportedly struck by a motorist who fled the scene early Monday morning.

The Go Fund Me account established by Corinne Ariss in the name of Jordan Williams, 19, has already raised $14,599 en route to its $20,000 goal.

Idaho State Police said Williams was found lying unresponsive in North Boyer Avenue at 12:41 a.m. Troopers are seeking information about the apparent collision involving Williams.

Williams was found in the southbound lane of travel at the Mountain View Drive intersection.

The fundraising account said Williams was the victim of a hit-and-run collision involving a motorist. Williams' injuries include a crushed skull, brain contusions and the loss of his left eye.

Williams is described as an accomplished skier with an infectiously positive attitude.

Williams was flown to Kootenai Health medical center in Coeur d'Alene and was listed in critical condition. Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Aitken said Williams was subsequently transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The fundraising account states that Williams is undergoing reconstructive surgery at Harborview.

“The funds raised on this page will go to cover the high expense of being life flighted, as well as all the medical bills that come from this horrific experience,” the account narrative said.

State police said the incident remains under investigation. No additional information was released on Tuesday.

Those with information about the incident are asked to contact Trooper Jonathan Cushman at 208-209-8730. To make an online donation, go to www.gofundme.com/cayneuzw.
