Arlee girls' team wins by three in Corvallis

Teams were spread out across the area participating in track meets last week.

Polson

The Polson girls had a good showing at the Frenchtown meet on Saturday, taking fourth as a team. Lydia Bowman had the only individual win for the Pirates, taking first in the pole vault. Molly Sitter took second in the two mile and fourth in the one mile. Erin Sampson took second in the shot put and Julia Sanderson took fourth. Mikaela Ducharme took second in the 800, and Charlee Cote added a third place finish in the 400 and a fifth place finish in the pole vault.

For the boys, Jacob Clairmont took top honors in the pole vault and second in the 300 hurdles. Matt Rensvold took second in the 400, Colton Cote took third in the 200, and Mike Corrigan took fifth in the discus. The long relay team took third, and the short relay team took sixth.

Arlee

The Arlee girls had another great meet on Thursday in Corvallis. The Scarlets took first place as team behind three wins from freshman Natalie Yocum, who took top honors in the 800, 1600, and 3200-meter runs. Junior Carly Hergett won the 100 hurdles and the long jump, and took third in the triple jump. Fellow junior Abby Yocum took fifth in the same event.

The Arlee boys put up more points than the previous week, scoring 18.33 on Thursday. Senior Isaac Desjarlais took first place in the 400-meter run and fifth in the 100-meter dash. Harold Yocum took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles, TJ Knoll tied for fourth in the pole vault, and George Shick tied for sixth in the same event.

On Saturday in Bigfork, Natalie Yocum took second in the mile and third in the 800-meter run.

Charlo

On Thursday, Charlo traveled to Corvallis. The boys’ team scored a total of 54 points, coming fourth behind three bigger schools. Racking up the points for the Vikings was senior Michael Delaney, who won the 100-meter dash and took second in the 300-meter hurdles. He also ran in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, both of which took first place. Dugan Runkel also put some points up, taking third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

For the girls, Charlo put up 25 points as a team. Sophomore Brooklyn Foust took fourth in both the one and two mile races. Freshman Kara Tatukivei took sixth in the 100-meter dash, and senior Ashley Tryon took sixth in the discus.

Mission

The Mission team also went to Corvallis on Thursday. For the boys, Tate Weingart registered the only points, taking fifth in the triple jump.

On Saturday, the team traveled to Frenchtown, but the only athlete to place in the top six was freshman Afton Brander, who took third in the high jump.

Ronan

The Ronan track team also went to Bigfork on Saturday. The boys put up 52.5 points to take fifth place at the meet. Collin McGuyer took second in the 200, third in the 100, and fifth in the pole vault. Jackson Duffey won the two mile and took fourth in the one mile. Trevor Anderson took third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.

For the girls, Lee Camel took second in the triple jump, third in the shot put, and sixth in the long jump. Ashley McCready took fifth in both the 800 and mile. Freshman Kara Holmlund took fifth in the shot put.
