Man goes to jail after fight with wife

Kalispell Police took a man to jail after he called from Merganser Drive to report that he had hit his wife. The man claimed the woman came at him with a knife. A 6-month old baby was reportedly in the house at the time of the incident. An investigating officer found that the fight was over a cigarette and that both involved individuals had misdemeanor warrants out for their arrest.
A woman called from East Idaho Street to report that she was able to escape after being held against her will in a nearby transient camp for eight days. The woman was interviewed by officers, who are investigating her claims.
Columbia Falls Police logged a report from Eighth Avenue West, where a person reported that several mailboxes had been opened. That caller suspected that his or her credit-card applications might have fallen victim to the pilferer.
Whitefish Police Department responded to Third Street, where a woman reported that her drunken husband had gotten physical with her. The pair had separated by the time an officer arrived.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stillwater Road, where a construction company’s truck was vandalized over the weekend.
A person on Birch Drive outside of Kalispell reported that two trash cans of extensions cords had been stolen in the night.
A permanent resident reported that he or she had dropped a Green Card somewhere along Going-to-the-Sun Road a few months ago and had not been able to locate it. The man was told that he should contact immigration services about replacing the card.
Pallets were stolen from a location off U.S. 40 near Columbia Falls, where someone had also apparently damaged three pipes leading to a backup generator.
An officer responded to U.S. 2 in Kila where a parent was dealing with a double dose of trouble as an out-of-control 16-year-old child allegedly caused problems. At the same time a man in Turkey was sending the family threatening messages over Facebook. The parent and child were counseled and told to block the man on Facebook.
A drunk man was arrested at Klondyke Loop in Somers after his pregnant ex-girlfriend allegedly threw him out of the residence. The man then allegedly hit the woman’s father in the face, causing him to cough up blood.
A drunken man in the Bear Trail area was upset after breaking up with a girlfriend. The man, who was possibly trained in martial arts, allegedly said that he wanted to kill the ex-lover. Neighbors took a sword from the man until officers arrived so he could not harm himself or anyone else. A deputy was able to locate someone to stay with the man.
A man called from McCaffery Road in Bigfork to report that his heavily pregnant girlfriend had slipped a cellphone into a bag and hit him in the hand with it. The man thought his hand might have been broken in the assault. The man gave no motive for the incident, but said he had drunk two beers.
ALERT helicopter was sent to Marion Fire Hall to retrieve a man with a gunshot wound to the hand that reportedly occurred accidentally during target practice.
