COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls swept singles play in a girls Class A tennis dual with Stevensville on Saturday and also posted wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles for a decisive 6-1 victory.

The Wildkats did not have standout Emily Getts for this outing as the team’s No. 1 singles player was participating in another school activity.

Molly Schmit moved into the No. 1 slot and rolled by Stevensville’s Erin Bartlett, 6-1, 6-0.

In boys play, Stevensville edged Columbia Falls 3-2. Neither team had a full lineup.

“(John) Gilk and (Sean) Hoerner moved up to No. 1 (doubles) and got the win,” Columbia Falls coach Gary Yee said. “Both were more aggressive (this time) at the net.”

Gilk and Hoerner beat Noah Breneman and Aksel Sorensen, 7-5, 6-4.

Gilk and Hoerner have been playing at No. 2 doubles.
