LaRue, Belgarde top LPIOC derby

SANDPOINT — Cory LaRue and Gale Belgarde Jr. led the adult standings of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s annual spring derby.
LaRue is topping the rainbow trout division with a 17.88-pound rainbow trout that measured 35 inches. Belgarde is leading the Mackinaw standings with a 16-pound lake trout that also measured 35 inches.
Arthur Carter is holding the top spot in the Junior division with 5.84-pound trout of unspecified species. Patrick Elmore is atop the Youth A division with a 12-pounder, while Claire Belgard leads the Youth B contest with a 10-pounder.
Mack of the Day honors have been awarded to Ray McLeod and Gale Belgarde Jr.

1. Cory LaRue, 17.88 pounds, 35 inches; 2. Jan Deife, 17, 31; 3. Randy Vanderkolk, 17.02, 35; 4. Danile Sturgis, 16.30, 33.5; 5. Dan Harter, 15.71, 32.
Mackinaw division:

Junior division (14 to 17 Years)

Youth B Division (0 to 8 Years):
1. Claire Belgarde, 10.68 pounds, 30 inches; 2. Lyndon Stepkman, 8.48, 28.75; 3. Mason Nett, 2.84, 19.75.
