LETTER: The left finds a new way to launder money
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 8 years, 8 months AGO
The Obama administration has announced that the likeness of former president and 1812 war hero (who allowed the United States to continue as a nation) Andrew Jackson is being removed from the $20 bill.
According to one Internet report, “The decision by the U.S. Treasury to place a black woman — and escaped slave — on the nation’s currency follows a popular Internet petition and illustrates a shift in how Americans want to tell the story of a nation’s path to liberty.”
We also learned that the Obama administration has decided to put on the back side of the $10 dollar bill the the likenesses of five women (apparently the likeness of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers — right-hand man to George Washington — and the person who created the U.S. treasury — will stay on the front). Liberal women had targeted him (Hamilton) first for removal, but why stop at five new faces? Are there only five deserving women? What about transgendered — gays — bisexual people?
There is a popular play on broadway in New York City that has a black actor portraying Hamilton — maybe that is what saved him from his likeness being removed from the $10 bill.
So much for historical accuracy.
The left forced a statue of Franklin Delano Roosevelt to be displayed in our nation’s capital showing him in a wheelchair — something he would never have allowed — but all of this activity from the left to cleanse our history good or bad gives me an idea.
Why doesn’t the Treasury Department sell advertising — put ads on the back of our currency to reduce the national debt, or better yet sell it as a way to help children?
You could read that this $20 bill is sponsored by George Soros and Mark Zuckerberg!
