Lake County’s law enforcement community worked together to bring Angela Evans to court.
Charged with felony criminal possession with intent to distribute, Evans is accused of carrying a collection of illegal drugs with her as she rode in a car that sped through Lake County in March.
Evans’ interaction began when a Tribal Law and Order officer pulled the car she was riding in over for speeding March 10.
Evans, a passenger, was one of three people in the car, all of whom told law enforcement officers different stories about their activities on the road, a Lake County Court affidavit said.
Realizing the inconsistency, a Mission Mountain Task Force member obtained a search warrant for the car, the report said.
Their instinct was right. Inside the car, officers found a locked duffle bag. Once opened, the officer found a baggie and spoon with drug residue and a silver flashlight containing two baggies of methamphetamine inside the battery compartment, the report said.
Along with those items, officers found a zippered case containing two used syringes, a spoon with drug residue on it, a pill baggie with a brownish substance in it, a loaded syringe and several more used syringes and baggies, the report said.
A third bag revealed a baggie of marijuana, a baggie of dark tar like substance that tested positive for heroin and hash oil, one hydrocodone pill, three dextroamphetamine pills, a lock box containing cash, additional heroin in another bag, and a baggie containing 70 grams of methamphetamine, the report said.
Additionally, the task force officer found more baggies, a digital scale, another baggie of methamphetamine, additional syringes, Evans’ Montana food assistance card, her debit card, pay stubs and mail addressed to Evans. Authorities believe the drugs belonged to Evans.
The case filed April 12 will require Evans to appear in Lake County District Court. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.
