MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested after he allegedly fled police in a vehicle, crashed into a chain link fence and row of trees, and ran from the crashed vehicle.
About 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday a 1996 Ford Mustang was spotted traveling at speeds in excess of 60 mph on South Skyline Drive at East 11th Avenue, according to Capt. Dave Sands. A Moses Lake Police Department officer reportedly attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver, identified as Daniel Lyles, 20, of Moses Lake, fled the area.
Lyles reportedly drove to State Street, turned onto South Jefferson Avenue and eventually turned onto East Nelson Road. Lyles reportedly crashed into a chain link fence and a row of trees near Grace Lutheran Church, 303 E. Nelson Road.
Lyles got out of the vehicle and fled the area on foot. He was arrested about 9:30 p.m. at Samaritan Hospital as he was seeking treatment for minor injuries he received in the crash, Sands said. He was booked into the Grant County Jail for reckless driving, eluding and third-degree driving with a suspended or revoked license.
