Register today for Kids Draw Architecture

The Coeur d’Alene Arts and Culture Alliance will bring the Kids Draw Architecture program to Coeur d’Alene on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Human Rights Education Institute.

A pizza party will follow from 4-5 pm.

Registration is now open for the event which costs $10 per child ages 10 and older, and includes drawing materials, snacks, water, and pizza party. Scholarships are available.

The registration deadline has been extended to Thursday, Sept 8.

Originally developed with the assistance of the Architecture Foundation in Santa Barbara, Kids Draw Architecture is an opportunity for aspiring artists and architects to work with local architects and design experts as they walk through downtown Coeur d’Alene and sketch local architecture while learning about how our community’s architecture and art represents us as a culture.

The original drawings will be on display at the Human Rights Education Institute that Sunday, and compiled into a booklet as well as a calendar.

The day begins with an overview by Kevin Jester from Architects West, followed by a group session on drawing techniques. Kids then will split into smaller groups to work with area experts, architects and designers, to do on-site sketches. The best sketches from each participant will be put on display. Families are then invited to come to the pizza party and view the exhibit.
