SOCCER: Libby zaps Stevil; Stillwater draws

LIBBY — Cody Wood assisted on the first score and netted the next two goals to help Libby open the boys soccer season with a 4-0 victory over Stevensville on Friday.
Colin Maloney and Sebastian Sanders had the other goals for Libby.
The Stevensville girls won by forfeit over Libby. The Loggers did not have enough girls eligible (must participate in at least 10 practices) for the opener.

Stillwater, Lakeland tie in boys soccer
RATHDRUM, Idaho — Stillwater Christian School and Lakeland High School battled to a scoreless tie in the boys season soccer opener for Stillwater on Friday.
Lakeland outshot Stillwater on goal 9-2 and led in corner kicks 7-0.
“It’s always good to get the season off well defensively,” Stillwater coach Ryan O’Rourke said. “Credit to my two seniors playing in the center defensive position — Isaac Newmann and Darren Kauffman.”
Stillwater plays at Priest River, Idaho, today at 1:30 p.m.
