A fifth-wheel trailer on Grigg Road was consumed by fire on Tuesday afternoon.
A man and a dog were able to escape and were not injured.
“The main concern was the propane tank. Our first concern was to cool that off. The camper was completely involved when we got here, so it was mostly defensive, looking for spotting in the wheat fields,” Evergreen Fire Chief Craig Williams said shortly after the fire.
Williams later said the fire was likely caused by an electrical problem.
Columbia Falls also responded with mutual aid, providing a tender and an additional engine.
