NEWS: Tell whole story
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 1 month AGO
Simply a comment referring to recent articles about fake news. Sunday’s paper continued this subject with their article Living In Bubbles, along with Sholeh Patrick’s column, all concerning news gathered on Facebook or other websites. Sunday’s paper in the WORLD/NATION by Associated Press an article “West Bank settlement evacuated in 5th day of Israeli fires.” That article gave the truth, however; is it really the truth if part of the story is left out (I believe to be a deliberate choice)? Paragraph three: They got a major boost Saturday with the arrival from the United States of the Boeing 747-400 “Supertanker,” the world’s largest fire-fighting aircraft…
On my website attached to Facebook, The Hal Lindsey news has several posts concerning this very “boost” as being one that came about ONLY after Israel AGREED to RENT it. Humm. Who do we believe? Knowing/following the news from the Middle East, I would tend to believe the posts I found on the web. Failure to tell the complete story then in fact is not the truth.
Because I do not hold claim to the real facts, I submit this only as a case in point to ponder. I for many do not rely on the media for all our news as it clearly has been shown to be slanted…so then, does that mean websites that post “the truth” are indeed doing so? We the public have one choice and that is discernment. Use it.
