SANDPOINT — The 7B Women, a committee of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, invites the community to attend its December luncheon today, Dec. 6 at Tango Café in the Columbia Bank Center. The luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m.; preregistration with the chamber is highly encouraged.

In celebration of the holidays, 7B Women will welcome the Sandpoint High School choir to entertain attendees and help everyone kick off the festive season. The choir has been busy raising money to cover expenses for their trip to the All Northwest competition, which happens every two years, so be sure to bring a little extra cash if you would like to help them meet their goal.

“They have approximately $7,500 in travel expenses for both the All State and All Northwest events,” said 7B Women committee member Gina Hall. “This doesn’t include individual vocal competitions which take place in March and May.”

All State took place in November and Sandpoint had 15 students accepted into the 250-member choir. Attending the prestigious All-Northwest event in Bellevue, Wash., in February will be five Sandpoint students.

“It has been a tradition to host the Sandpoint High School choir at our December luncheons, and it has always been very popular with our attendees” said 7B Women vice chair Patty Hutchens.

There will also be a second opportunity to celebrate the season with the 7B Women on Thursday, Dec. 8 as they hold its second Ugly Christmas Sweater party at the Lounge at Trinity at City Beach beginning at 5:30 p.m.

“We encourage everyone to come in their ugly sweater attire and join in on the fun,” said committee member Jenn Markwardt. “We will have a prize for the ugliest sweater as well as a special ‘candy cane cocktail’ created especially for this event.”

Today’s luncheon is open to everyone in the community, both men and women. The cost is $20 or $15 for chamber members. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. The luncheon takes place at Tango Café in the Columbia Bank Building from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If people would like an opportunity to promote their business at the luncheon, they are asked to bring an item to raffle and will be given a “minute with the mic” at the conclusion of the luncheon.
