The Whitefish swim team opened its season with a solid performance in Kalispell over the weekend.

The girls team took fifth overall with 191 points, led by second place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle and 100 butterfly by Caroline Dye and Annie Sullivan’s second place in the 500 yard freestyle and 500 freestyle.

The boys finished in sixth place, with 150 points. The boys medley relay of Matthew Perez, Denver Dicks, Preston Ring and Trey Siers finished in fifth. Matthew Perez earned a fourth place finish in the 500 yard freestyle.

Head coach Amy Caudill said she was happy with the team’s start to the season and looks forward to seeing her swimmers continue to train and improve.

Whitefish travels to Great Falls on Dec. 17 for the Great Falls Invite.
