Elks Lodge holding annual Hoop Shoot

Mission Valley Elks Lodge will be hosting their Annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest on Sunday, Dec. 18 at Linderman Gymnasium in Polson. Free registration and warm up will run from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Contest will begin at 11:00 a.m. Contest is open to boys and girls ages 8-13 (as of April 1, 2017) from Polson, Ronan and all surrounding areas. There is no cost to participate and no admission charge. Winners of each age group will advance to the district contest in Pablo at the McDonald Gymnasium. Free chili and hot dogs will be served for each contestant and their families after the shoot at the Polson Elks club.

Polson woman pleads not guilty to homicide

Danielle Jeanette Wood pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide during a video arraignment Tuesday before Lake County District Court Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher at the Sanders County Courthouse in Thompson Falls. Wood is charged with deliberate homicide in connection with the death of Thompson Falls resident Matthew LaFriniere in May 2018.
