Post Falls Candy Cane Run tonight

POST FALLS — Santa and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue employees will be making their annual Candy Cane Run in Post Falls from 6 to 9 tonight, handing out candy canes to kids, spreading Christmas cheer and collecting donations for Toys for Tots, the Post Falls Food Bank and The Press Christmas for All.

Residents are encouraged to come out to the street when they hear the fire engine coming.

Cash, non-perishable foods and toy donations will be accepted.

Stops will be made at, in the following order:

• at the Woodbridge subdivision at the corner of Seltice Way and Silkwood Drive next to Woodbridge Park;

• at the Siony Apartments on Siony Lane north of Seltice Way;

• in the Montrose subdivision at Willamette and Palouse;

• in the Fieldstone subdivision at the east end of Bobwhite Lane;

• on Knapp Drive and Poleline Avenue near Post Falls High; and

• at Second Avenue and Ridgewood Drive south of Capone's Pub and Grill.

The engine will drive through the neighborhoods to create holiday buzz before making the designated stops where kids can meet Santa and his helpers.

The run was held in Dalton Gardens on Wednesday night.
