Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 9 months AGO
The Christmas story of the bright star seen by shepherds and the message brought by angels when Christ was born will be told in song this weekend by the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale.
“Behold That Star” will be performed tonight at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth St., Coeur d’Alene.
The performance will feature both classical and classic tunes of the angels’ message. Vivaldi’s “Gloria” will be performed with orchestra and a 60-plus voice choir. It is one of the most well-known classical pieces performed for Christmas. Other pieces included in the Christmas concert include Gerald Finzi’s “Christmas Scene,” English carols, a fanfare, a spiritual and traditional favorites all accompanied by musicians special to the chorale.
Tickets for this orchestra and choral fanfare are $22/adults and $16/seniors, students and military, and can be purchased at the door or online at www.NWSMC.org.
The concert will also be performed in Spokane at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard St.
