Lincoln County officially purchased a property in Troy for the county road department to expand.

The commissioners have been working on purchasing the land since July of this year. The land parcel will go to expand the existing .5 acre land parcel that the county road department sits on in Troy.

On July 27, the commissioners unanimously voted 3-0 to proceed with the process and approach the landowner about price negotiations, with a call from commissioners for Troy Road Department Foreman Dave Kyriss to produce a plan outlining the needs for expansion.

Before it was purchased land was advertised for the public to see. At the meeting, the county commissioners put aside time for the public to comment or object on the decision.

According to Kyriss, the land parcel will go to be used for equipment storage.
