SPIRIT LAKE — Brayden Menti scored the go-ahead basket with 1 1/2 minutes left, and Dock Sommers sank two free throws in the final minute as the Timberlake Tigers edged the Sandpoint Bulldogs 41-38 in nonleague play Tuesday night.
“It was just a back-and-forth defensive battle, and we just happened to come out on top,” said Timberlake coach Michael Scott, who also praised the defense of Brenden Jessen, and the defense and rebounding of Brandon Hausladen.
Timberlake beat Sandpoint two weeks ago in the season opener.
