For his involvement with and generosity toward the Pend Oreille Arts Council, Ed Robinson was chosen Artist of the Year at this year’s Art Party.

As part of that honor, Robinson will be featured at a one-man-show opening this Friday, Dec. 16 at the POAC Gallery, 302 N. First Ave. The public is invited to come meet him at a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Robinson, an avid fly fisherman, shows off his love for the outdoors in both his watercolor and oil paintings.

“I am primarily a landscape painter and enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the beauty of my favorite Northwest locales,” Robinson said in a 2013 interview. “I choose my subjects carefully because once I start one I tend to be there awhile. I sometimes kid that I paint with glacial-like slowness.”

The exhibit will be on display until the first week in January. Be sure to come by to see it.
