Columbia Falls City Councilman Dave Petersen uses money from Smith's to match a donation from Leeann Lantrip at the Smith's grocery store in Columbia Falls on Thursday, December 15. Bell ringers were at locations around the valley including Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Evergreen, Bigfork and Lakeside competing to see who can raise the most money in a single day. This year Kalispell was not able to participate this year due to a scheduling conflict. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
