New Advance Auto Parts opens

Serving professional installers and do-it-yourself customers, Advance Auto Parts has opened its store at 320 W. Kathleen Ave. (just east of Highway 95). The parts include recognized national brands and Carquest brand products.

Products are at the store and are available online at www.advanceautoparts.com and can be picked up at the store within 30 minutes. Commercial customers can have them delivered to their business. Repair information also is on the website.

Heading 10 employees, General Manager Jeff Dunn said at the opening Thursday that $1,000 is being donated to Building Homes for Heroes, Services include installation of batteries and a used motor oil and battery program.

Hours at the location are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Phone 664-2207 for retail parts and 664-5288 for commercial.

With its headquarters in Roanoke, Va., Advance Auto Parts has 5,058 stores with about 74,000 employees.

New Pool World building on Appleway

With a showroom for hot tubs, swim spas, grills, saunas, in-ground swimming pools, water care and related accessories, Pool World will open a new building at 745 W. Appleway by April 1.

With an installation history of more than 1,500 pools in the region, owners Kerry and Lyla Henderson started the company in 1976 and have three stores in the Spokane area and service vehicles. They started the Coeur d’Alene store in 2004 at 235 W. Sunset, where they have six employees.

Winter hours in the Sunset store are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 to 5 Saturdays. Phone 765-5220. Check www.poolworld.biz.

New Armor Antiques on East Sherman

Spaces are available for vendors at Armor Antiques at 1116 E. Sherman Ave. Owners Michael and Sydney Brumfield plan to open the new store in January.

The store will offer antiques, vintage items and collectibles from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone 318-272-4098.

Riverstone Holdings now on Main Street

Owning and managing retail buildings, Riverstone Holdings has moved to 2187 Main St. in Riverstone.

- We should soon have news on the new Nadine’s Mexican Kitchen in Rathdrum.

- Watch for Traci & Charli’s full-service salon on Ironwood, Kitchen CDA in the Silver Lake Mall food court and Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurant to be where Skippers was off Highway 95 next to Silver Lake Mall (which Skippers is now inside).

- A Taco Loco will be where Valentino’s Pizza was off Canfield Avenue. Cash & Carry store will be off Appleway and Cosmic Cowboy Grill will be at Highway 95 and Haycraft Avenue.

- In Hayden watch for Young Chefs’ Academy in Prairie Shopping Center, an Asian eatery where Kynrede Cafe was and a gas station-convenience store in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster.

- A major development called The Crossroads is proposed for Athol. Watch for details. We anticipate a Super 1, a bank, coffee shop, a motel, a gas station-convenience store, a restaurant and others.

- Downtown — Watch for Rustic Restaurant at 309 Sherman (next to Clark’s Jewelry) and Community First Bank at 5404 Sherman.

- We also have Advanced Health Care and Schini Family Dentistry building new places in Riverstone. Sweeto Burrito is opening soon near Winco, and Express Employment Professionals will move into the Winco (Crossroads) complex. The Shilo Inn on Appleway will become a Comfort Suites with a major remodel.

- New places in Post Falls will be Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Green & Grounds Coffee Shop, Cricket Wireless, Silverlake Automotive and The Lean Bean.

- New places coming to the revised Post Falls Outlet Mall include Black-Ops Self Defense, My Big Fat Greek Deli, a comic book store and a coffee espresso store.

- When meaning frigid, “arctic” is not capped. It is when referring to the North Pole area.
