Joan Denise Crooks, 60, passed away Dec. 19, 2016, in Post Falls, Idaho. A celebration of life will be held July 15, 2017. Joan was born Aug. 31, 1956, in Richardton, N.D. She lived in Mott, N.D., and Elgin, Ill.
On Feb. 12, 1977, she married Dale Francis Crooks in Mott. Joan began her career in health care at the Panhandle Health District in 1989. In 1992, she worked with the Department of Health and Welfare Program in Kellogg, Idaho. She completed the Surgical Tech Program I in Boise, Idaho. Then she went to Apollo College in Spokane with the Medical Assistance Program. From there, she worked both the front and back office at Panhandle Health District until her passing. Joan loved gardening.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dale F. Crooks Sr. of the family home in Post Falls; one son, Dale F. Crooks Jr.; one daughter, Amanda Crooks; one grandson, Elijah J. Crooks Mour; three brothers, Frank (Ramona Swindler) R. Jordan, Bernard (Leann) P. Jorda and Thomas (Arlys) M. Jorda; three sisters, Mary (Norman) Mezey, Kathleen A. Bickel and Elizabeth (Thomas) J. McCullough; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way Hayden, ID 83835.
