A Columbia Falls man has been charged with burglarizing an Evergreen business where he once was employed.

Dylan Lloyd Herman, 26, was charged last week with felony burglary in Flathead District Court.

Herman allegedly was caught on camera making fraudulent purchases at Wal-Mart and Zip Trip on May 12 with a debit card that had been stolen earlier in the night when the glass front door of Andy’s Auto Glass in Evergreen was broken, according to court records. The thief took more than $5,000 in cash, debit and credit cards in a manner that seemed to overlook obvious other valuables in the room. Authorities noted it seemed like the thief was familiar with the business. Herman is a former employee.

Herman is currently being held on $10,000 bail in that case.

He was sentenced Nov. 12 to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections for a 2008 felony criminal possession with intent to distribute case, in which Herman’s suspended sentence was revoked. He also received a consecutive five-year suspended sentence with the state for a 2015 criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
