The Polson School District has received national recognition for its advanced placement courses with the recent reception of an award from The College Board.
According to a press release from Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau, the district will join four others across the state and 433 districts nationwide as recipients of the seventh annual Advanced Placement District Honor Roll Award.
To qualify for the honor, districts must have increased access to AP coursework while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of three or higher on AP exams, the release states.
“Congratulations to the Montana school districts that are expanding access to high-quality classes that often result in college credit for students,” Juneau said in the release. “Students who complete AP coursework get a head-start on their college education, setting them up for continued success.”
In addition to the Polson School District, Great Falls Public Schools, Hamilton School District, Helena School District and Sweet Grass County High School District also received the award.
