Sweeto Burrito set to open Jan. 3
Nils Rosdahl | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 8 years, 3 months AGO
Starting as a food truck “to feed the hungry dudes in the North Dakota oil fields in 2011,” Sweeto Burrito plans to open its Coeur d’Alene outlet Jan. 3 at 1423 W. Appleway (the Crossroads Center in front of WinCo).
The idea began with a family picnic in Deer Park, Wash., then the concept went to North Dakota and now the company has a large chain of stores, including three in Spokane. It offers burritos, tacos, wraps, salads, wings, appetizers, desserts, kids meals and drinks.
The new, 3,000-square-foot building seats 80 people inside and on a patio with a drive-through, online ordering, takeout, catering and delivery. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Owner is Scott Isaak. Check www.sweetoburrito.com.
Nadine’s Mexican Kitchen in Rathdrum
Mexican food, chilies and traditional American food are offered at Nadine’s Mexican Kitchen. Open 11 a.m. to closing (9-ish p.m.), the new restaurant opened last month at 8016 W. Main St. in Rathdrum. The 100-year-old building began as a drug store and soda fountain and most recently was Salsa Chic Factory.
Named after owner Dave Walsh’s (with wife Sue) mother Nadine, the restaurant offers burritos and taquitos made of chicken and pork, smoked brisket chimichangas, tacos with grilled pineapple, guacamole, pickled red onions, shepherd’s pie, chicken-fried steak and happy-hour specials.
The Walsh family has been in the food business all their lives in North Idaho, Reno and California. Nadine’s is on Facebook with a website under construction. Phone 687-6441.
Community First Bank opening downtown
Community First Bank will open a downtown branch about Jan. 15 at 504 Sherman Ave. An ATM will open soon on the front of the building, which formerly held KXLY media.
Dave Bobbitt will be chief executive officer with five employees and eventually full-service banking. Hours at first will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Community First also has outlets at 435 W. Hanley Ave. and at Seltice Way and Post Street in Post Falls.
About 3,000 square feet with parking and a park-lake view on the south portion of the Sherman Avenue bank remains available. Contact Mike Gregg of Coldwell Banker Realty at 664-1461.
Express Employment Professionals to Cd’A
The largest privately held staffing service in the country, Express Employment Professionals, has outgrown its Post Falls office at 201 E. Fourth Ave. and is opening Jan. 30 in Suite 104 of the Crossroads (WinCo) Center at Appleway and Ramsey Road.
“We help people find jobs and provide custom workforce solutions that enhance productivity and increase profits,” said Jessica Bauman, franchise owner. “These include employment in skilled trades, commercial, administrative, accounting-finance and medical and dental offices.”
In 2016 the local office issued nearly 5,000 paychecks and employed more than 500 people at 170 companies in North Idaho. Express Employment has 760 offices in the country. Hours here are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Phone 667-JOBS (5627).
