COEUR d’ALENE — Zaequan “Ziggy” Satterthwaite had 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead North Idaho College to a 111-58 win over the Grays Harbor College Choakers in the opening round of the Coeur d’Alene Inn-vitational on Wednesday night at Rolly Williams Court.

“Ziggy is playing really well for us right now,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “Markus got hot and Niko just went out and hit shots like he always does.”

Markus Golder had 23 points and Niko Bevens scored 15 points for NIC, which jumped out to a 52-33 lead at halftime.

“We shot the ball really well tonight as a group,” Symons said. “We came out and played some tough defense to force 27 turnovers and were able to get a lot of guys in. It was a good game for us to get back after break in.”

NIC (10-1) will play Medicine Hat in a semifinal game tonight at 7:30.

“They’re a good team,” Symons said. “It will be a good test for us. They’re big and can shoot the ball really well. It will be a good game to see where we’re at.”
