Warden falls to fourth in CW2B South after losses to Waterville, Kittitas

WARDEN — Warden fell to fourth in the CW2B South league after losses to Waterville and Kittitas.
The Shockers completed their sweep of the Cougars with a 58-44 win. The next night, Warden surrendered a nine-point lead to Kittitas and lost 54-48.
Piper Williams scored 10 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter to power the Coyotes 24 points in the final period. Warden mustered 11, giving up a 37-30 lead after three quarters.
Warden struggled early against Kittitas until Brenna Whitney tied the game, 18-18, after a corner three-pointer in the second quarter. Whitney’s three-pointer keyed a 10-0 run that helped the Cougars build a 25-18 lead.
In the third quarter, Allycia Gonzales’ basket gave Warden its largest lead, 35-26.
However, the Coyotes put together a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to draw within one point. Later, Kittitas pulled ahead from the free throw line.
Bailey Whitney scored a team-high 18 points. Brenna Whitney and Gonzales added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Moses Lake 64, Eisenhower 16
YAKIMA — Moses Lake steamrolled Eisenhower 64-16 and improved to 17-0.
Jessie and Jamie Loera scored 18 and 14 points, respectively. The Chiefs also received contributions from Taylor Stephens, Abby Rathbun and Jessica Olson. The trio combined for 20 points.
Second-ranked Moses Lake has a shot to wrap up at least a share of the CBBN league championship with a win at Sunnyside Feb. 5.
Ephrata moves within one game of second in CWAC
Ephrata moved to within one game of second place in the CWAC after wins over Grandview and Prosser.
Harley Vanatta and Katie Hilliard pushed Ephrata past Grandview 63-62. Vanatta scored 22 points and Hilliard chipped in 19.
Hilliard continued her hot shooting with 17 points in a 45-27 win over Prosser.
The Tigers outscored the Mustangs 24-9 in the second half.
Othello loses a pair
Othello fell to Wapato, 63-35, and Toppenish 50-31.
Tanaya Anderson led the Huskies with 12 points against the Wolves. Hadassi Valdez scored a team-high 14 points against Toppenish.
Quincy falls to Ellensburg, Selah
Quincy’s losing streak extended to 14 games after losses to Ellensburg, 58-20, and Selah, 65-34.
Soap Lake drops games to Kittitas, Entiat
Eleahgrey Vanatta scored 15 points against Kittitas, but it wasn’t enough as Soap Lake lost 46-30.
Soap Lake dropped its next game to Entiat 60-37.
