SANDPOINT — The cities of Sandpoint and Ponderay will split the 15 percent matching funds for the Schweitzer Cutoff Road bridge, with a formal Memorandum of Understanding being drafted for completion by the end of next week.

Sandpoint City Administrator Jennifer Stapleton said she is hopeful to have the MOU to the city council by the March 2 board meeting. The document will state the cities will split the matching funds equally. The bridge crosses Sand Creek, which is the border between the two cities.

"And that had already been agreed to," Stapleton said of splitting the funds. "(The MOU) just fills our the respective roles of the two parties."
