SANDPOINT — He made a verbal commitment more than a year ago, but on national signing day Wednesday it became official, as Sandpoint senior Kyle Perry signed a full-ride scholarship to play football next season at the University of Idaho.
The All-Star and All-League running back has been putting in hard work in the weight room for years in the hopes of playing football at the next level, and now he’ll get the chance.
“It’s nice to know the dream lives on, that I’m not done playing football,” said Perry, who plans to study agricultural sciences. “They play teams like LSU and USC. I’m excited to play against guys that were heavily recruited out of high school.”
The 6-2, 205 pound Perry said the coaches recruited him as an athlete, and they have penciled him in as a linebacker at the next level.
