Local wrestling teams finished up their regular season this past week and are preparing for the divisional tournaments this week. For Mission/Charlo, Arlee, and Ronan, that tournament will take place in Florence. As of last week, the Ronan team was ranked in the top ten throughout BC teams. Jared Neiss goes into the divisional tournament ranked number one in the state in the 145 weight class and should be well rested after sitting this past week out with an injury. Hunter Peterson is also ranked at state for the Chiefs.

Arlee has two wrestlers entering the postseason who are ranked at state. Alex Bertollt is ranked third in the 182 weight class and TJ Knoll is ranked fifth in the 145 weight class.

Mission/Charlo has future Dickinson wrestler Ethan Goss-Dickie ranked at state in the heavyweight class.

Polson will be entering 15 wrestlers at the Class A divisional tournament in Whitefish this weekend. Southwest and Northwest are combining this year to have a nine team tournament. The top eight in each class will move on to the state tournament in Billings next weekend. The Pirates are ranked second as a team in Class A, and have multiple athletes ranked individually. RJ Pierre (35-6) is the top ranked wrestler in the 103 weight class, Bridger Wenzel (35-10) is ranked second in the 120 weight class, Cameron Brown (23-7) is ranked third in the 132 weight class, Jaben Wenzel (27-16) is fourth in the 138, Parker Adler (23-12) is ranked third in the 145 weight class, Colton Cote (33-12) is second in the state for the 152 weight class, and Mike Corrigan (33-8) is ranked second in the 205 weight class. In an email, coach Bob Owen said, “Our team has had a terrific season, and we are well prepared for the Divisional. It will be crucial to finish individually in the top three as the State Tournament will be seeded by our finish in the Divisional.” Other wrestlers competing in Whitefish include Mateo Quinones (103, 30-15), Thunder Morales (126, 23-14), Jarod Farrier (132, 10-12), John Moore (138, 4-9), Koby Garcia (160, 13-21), Noah Humphrey (182, 19-24), Ryan Burland (205, 9-8), Nick Marquardt (Hwt, 17-17).
