SANDPOINT — Resources for domestic violence may be confidential, but Abuse, Recovery, Ministry and Services is hosting a free forum to educate the community about a problem in the area.
"The Inland Northwest as a whole has quite a bit of domestic violence," said Ginger Johnson, regional director for Abuse, Recovery, Ministry and Services. "One in three women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime."
A forum on domestic violence will be held Friday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church, 423 N. Lincoln St. People are asked to reserve a spot for the forum by calling 509-484-0600.
The forum aims to educate the community on the presence of domestic violence and how people can help those affected. Johnson said people will leave with a better understanding of the situation and a knowledge of available resources and help.
