Sans Seahawks, fans still turn out to watch Super Bowl

More than 50 people crowded into Capone's Pub and Grill in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday to watch the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers play in Super Bowl 50.
Troy Anast of Coeur d'Alene has worked at Capone's for the last three years and said it was a pretty good crowd considering the Seattle Seahawks were not in the Super Bowl this year.
He said they usually don't expect a big crowd because a lot of people have parties at home. Lindsey Clausen of Coeur d'Alene worked there last year as well and she said it was much slower this year.
"And they came in way earlier last year," Clausen said. "To us it's busy when there is a line out the door. It hasn't quite got to that point yet, but once it gets more exciting the more people will come in."
Most of the crowd cheered when the Broncos scored. Some of the patrons were true Broncos fans, wearing the gear to prove it. Some people were rooting for the Broncos only because the Seahawks were not playing and they had to pick one team or the other.
Brian Fulp, who was wearing a Seahawks jersey, and Kassadee Bowman of Coeur d'Alene decided to root for the Broncos, but not without reservations.
"I guess we're going for the Broncos," Fulp said. "I wish both teams could lose, but I don't think that's a possibility."
