Join Flathead Audubon on Sunday for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count.

Treat your valentines, young and adult, to a morning field trip in the Bigfork and Swan River area. Birders will learn about local avian residents, count winter birds at feeders and explore local areas for wintering residents such as trumpeter swans and pygmy owls.

Dress for the weather and bring binoculars and/or spotting scopes. Birders of all ages, especially families with children, are welcome, free of charge.

Meet Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at the east end of the Swan River School’s main parking area off Montana 83 near Bigfork. Birders will return at about 1:30 p.m.

For more information or to sign up, contact trip leader Kathy Ross at (406) 837-3837 or by email at mtkat67@gmail.com.
