OTHELLO — Irrigation officials announced they will begin filling East Low Canal March. 22.

The East Low Canal serves Moses Lake, Warden and Othello in the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District and the Connell area in the South Columbia Basin Irrigation District.

Water deliveries from the Potholes East Canal (East Columbia District Block 49) will be available by March 16, said manager Craig Simpson, of the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District. Deliveries from the East Low Canal will be available beginning March 28.

“Irrigation deliveries will be dependent on the demand in individual lateral systems,” Simpson wrote. “Pump plants will start when orders are sufficient for start-ups.”

Water users should contact the relevant watermaster headquarters or the local ditchrider for current schedules and information, Simpson said.
