Frieda Louise Wilke Miller, 87

Frieda Louise Wilke Miller “left us to be with our Lord and Savior” on Jan. 27, 2016.

Frieda was born on March 11, 1928, in Fortine to Albert and Francis Wilke. Frieda attended grade school in Fortine until the eighth grade. She graduated from Eureka High School.

Frieda worked for the Forest Service following high school. She and her sister Naomi worked together at United Airlines in Spokane. Upon returning home to the Fortine area, she took a clerical position at the Ant Flat Ranger Station. It was there she met her beloved husband Robert W. Miller.

Frieda always enjoyed and loved the outdoors. She stayed in excellent physical condition her entire life. The consummate homemaker, she enjoyed cooking sewing and raising a family. Frieda enjoyed traveling in her later years with Robert. She participated in dancing at fiddler festivals, hiking and meeting friends from Canada to the Southwestern United States.

Frieda held residences in Montana and Arizona before her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Francis Wilke; husband, Robert W. Miller; brother, Herb Wilke; and sister, Naomi Burkhart.

Frieda is survived by her brother, Neal Wilke, of Kalispell; daughter, Elma Ruth Miller, of Washington, D.C.; son, Dana Edward Miller, and wife, Tanna Lee Miller, of Corpus Christi, Texas; granddaughter Mikie Michelle Miller, and grandsons Chase Edward Miller and Lane Miller; and by her sister Naomi’s sons, Bert and Cindy, and Jay.

Frieda passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Yuma, Arizona.
