COEUR d'ALENE — A downtown Coeur d'Alene gym isn't just a place to go to pump some iron and get in shape. For one patron on Valentine's Day, 360 Fitness was also the perfect location to pump up the romance.
Sam Pappas, owner of 360 Fitness, told The Press Monday that one of the gym's longtime members approached him before Valentine's Day with an idea he had never heard before. The patron, Pappas said, wanted to use the rooftop of the gym as the location for a romantic dinner for two on Sunday.
"I thought it was an awesome idea," Pappas said. "I mean this guy spends all of his time in the gym anyways and you can tell just by looking at him. Actually getting him up there made sense, especially for that guy."
With Pappas and other gym employees all-in, the gym member took the time to prepare the rooftop on Saturday for a romantic, surprise Valentine's dinner for a special someone.
"It was all for a girl he was trying to impress," Pappas added.
What no one could have predicted was that the weather would be overcast and rainy on the big day. One Press reader, taken by the loving display, could not resist snapping a photo of the couple enjoying a meal while surrounded by blustery weather.
"I'm sure they made the best of it (in spite of the weather)," Pappas said.
