The Lady Lions of Lincoln County High School played host to the Lady Trojans of Troy Friday night and successfully defended their home court, 47-40.

The Lady Lions played a balanced game, scoring 11 in each of the first three quarters and dropping in another 14 in the final stanza to put the game out of reach. Amanda Peterson led all scorers with 18 for the Lady Lions. Aurora Becquart led the Lady Trojans with 10, Allie Coldwell added nine.

Head coach Justin Young said his team wasn’t as sharp as he would have liked them to be.

“We lost the game 47-40,” he said. “We weren’t as aggressive with the basketball the second half of the game. We got tunnel vision and got stale with our ball movement. The effort was there but the execution was sloppy.”
