TROY — Brady Martin led St. Maries with 14 points and six rebounds, Nate Masterson added eight points and five boards in a 2A District 1-2 boys tournament opening round 67-39 win over No. 4 seed Coeur d’Alene Charter at Troy High on Monday.

The No. 1-seeded Lumberjacks (18-3) will face No. 3 Orofino, which defeated Grangeville in the other opening round game on Monday night 58-39.

“Orofino shot the lights out against Grangeville, so it should be a good matchup against them,” St. Maries coach Bryan Chase said. “We have to defend a little better than we did tonight.”

Jacob Rutherford paced Coeur d’Alene Charter (3-17) with 13 points, and Julian Rubalacaba added eight.
