THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawks came in at second place after a loss against Bigfork with a final score of 37-50 in the District 7-B Tournament’s championship round.

Bigfork leapt into an early lead, getting twice the Bluehawks’ points. Thompson Falls played hard, but were not able to push ahead into a lead. The quarter closed with a score of 7-14. In the second quarter, the Bluehawks had a stronger game but were not able to get ahead. Bigfork, though, expanded their lead to close the half at 17-31.

Thompson Falls continued to fight hard, but could not break through the Bigfork defense. Their defense came out strong, though, and they prevented the competition from pushing ahead too much, closing the quarter at 23-39. The Bluehawk’s offense broke out in the final quarter and they pushed ahead, trying to close the score; however, Bigfork was too far ahead and Thompson Falls could not get far enough past their defense to tie the score.

Thompson Falls also played against Libby on Thursday, coming out on top to a final score of 49-40.
