BOYS BASKETBALL: Hellgate tops Glacier, clinches top seed

MISSOULA — The Hellgate boys clinched the Western AA championship with a 50-34 win over Glacier on Thursday.
The Knights ran out to a 10-4 lead after the first quarter, but never truly pulled away until after halftime, outscoring Glacier 16-9 in the third to take a 38-25 lead.
Connor Schenk scored 15 points and Derrius Collins had 13 points to lead Hellgate (17-3 overall, 10-2 Western AA), which finished the regular season with the conference’s best record.
Tadan Gilman had 10 points to lead Glacier (6-13, 3-8).
The Wolfpack will host Flathead tonight, with tip scheduled for 8 p.m.
