Mace in hand for men in the bush

A woman called the Kalispell Police Department to report five men hiding in the bushes around her home. During the phone call with dispatch, the woman said she had sprayed Mace into the bushes, possibly hitting one man in the face. The woman told dispatch the men eventually left.

Two men were seen fighting in a bar parking lot in south Kalispell. One man initially was reported for throwing chairs around inside the bar, but allegedly went outside and punched another man in the face immediately after an employee called the police.

A Kalispell driver reported seeing two men dressed all in white trying to break into a car in East Kalispell.

Two youths were seen running around on the roof of the water-park building in Kalispell.

Police spoke with a man who had been seen throwing things at cars from his driveway at 2 a.m.

A Kalispell resident reported someone stole a truck from his neighbor who was out of town on vacation.

A cardboard recycling container caught fire on Saturday near Main Street in Kalispell. The caller said he saw a youth running away from the flames. An employee at business nearby called 911 about 10 minutes later, claiming to have a woman in the store who admitted to starting the cardboard fire and a separate fire earlier that day.

A woman reported a man driving around her neighborhood in a van with his phone out the window, as if he was recording the neighborhood on video.

A younger person allegedly stole two sodas from a U.S. 93 business.

A woman told dispatch that someone else had filed their taxes under her name.

Someone found a suicide note in a Kalispell park.

A store employee caught a man stealing alcohol. The alleged thief was compliant with the employee and waited for police to arrive.

A Kalispell business employee reported a strange pile of clothes kept appearing in the business’ stairwell each morning over the past few days. Police brought the clothing to Goodwill and the Salvation Army.

After two previous calls to Animal Control, a resident called dispatch a third time to report their neighbor’s dog was left outside barking all night.


The Columbia Falls Police Department found a stolen vehicle, unoccupied and left in the middle of town.

A woman called police for assistance when she couldn’t get her car door to latch closed. An officer was able to get her door to close.


A man told Whitefish Police that someone had stolen his vehicle keys from his home to steal a firearm from his locked pickup truck on Thursday, but then returned the stolen keys on Friday.

In a separate incident, a man gave police the phone number of someone who he believed had stolen a few items from the caller’s residence.

A local coffee shop employee reported a man who had slept in his vehicle in the parking lot. The man kept removing items from his car and looking at them in a fashion that made the caller believe they were stolen.

Someone was heard hollering obscenities on Baker Avenue at 5:44 a.m.
