SANDPOINT — With twice as much snow as last year blanketing the area, residents in Bonner and Boundary counties are encouraged to remove snow from private and public facilities before the next snowstorm hits the area.

Boundary County Emergency Management issued a press release asking residents to conduct maintenance as needed and remove any current snow from roadways, access points, driveways, sidewalks, buildings and all dwellings that might suffer damage from excessive snow load. Bonner County Emergency Management director Bob Howard agrees with the neighboring county.
