Martin L. O’Bleness, 75

Martin L. O’Bleness, 75, of Salome, Ariz., passed away suddenly of natural causes at home on Dec. 25, 2015. He was born in Kingston, Idaho, on Sept. 25, 1940. He was a longtime resident of Washington and North Idaho.

He worked in the lumber industry and retired as a Union Carpenter. He was an avid reader, loved history, fishing, travel and became a GREAT cook! He spent his retirement achieving a lifetime goal of visiting all 50 states and their historical sites. He was loved by his family and friends for his compassion, generosity and his sense of humor!

Martin was a proud father and is survived by his seven children, Annette (Tony) Papetti of Post Falls, Farren (Susan) O’Bleness of Grand Saline, Texas, Colleen O’Bleness of Phoenix, Ariz., Teresa (James) Ford of Rathdrum, Idaho, Charlene and Kathleen O’Bleness of Walden, N.Y., and Eileen (Eric) Hewett of Hayden, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Eunice Murphy and Dorothy Carroll; brothers Andrew, Arthur and Bruce O’Bleness; and many nephews and nieces. His parents, Ivan and Hazel O’Bleness; brothers Gordon and Lawerence preceded him in death.

Private services will be held later in the year.
